FAQs

What thickness (gauge) of aluminum foil do I need?

It depends on the application. Confectionery wrap typically runs light gauges (as thin as .00045"), while industrial and technical uses often call for .001"–.016", available in soft or hard temper.

What aluminum alloys does Alufoil use?

1100 and 1200 series aluminum, standard for foil converting and packaging applications.

Can you laminate foil to other materials?

We stock foil already backed with 15 lb tissue or 30 lb paper, and offer foil board. Contact us for custom lamination services or adhesive coating.

Do you work with copper or other metals?

No — we specialize in aluminum only.

Can I order custom sizes?

Yes. Sheets and rolls can be custom-slit to your exact width, length, and gauge.

Is there a minimum order?

For Industrial Aluminum, orders under $500 per SKU carry a setup fee. Larger orders don't. For Confectioners and Hair Foil, a $20 cutting fee applies per color if that color's portion of the order is under $100 — even if the total order is over $1,000, any individual color under $100 still gets the fee.

What's the "extra pounds" / cutting fee charge?

It's a waste charge applied only when cutting your custom size from the master roll leaves excess material — it reflects the actual waste generated by your specific order, not a flat fee.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes — a material sample is available to test gauge, temper, and finish before a bulk order.

What's the difference between confectionery foil and industrial foil?

Confectionery foil is lighter gauge, food-safe, and often colored or printed for wrapping candy and chocolate. Industrial foil is typically heavier gauge, in soft or hard temper, for HVAC, insulation, and technical applications.

Do you supply pharmaceutical packaging foil?

Yes — heat-seal foil sheets and rolls for blister packs and pill packaging.

Do you supply salon/highlighting foil?

Yes — hair highlighting foil sold by the sheet, engineered for clean folding and consistent performance.

How long does a custom order take?

Standard lead time is 5–7 business days. Rush service is available for a fee. Custom products may vary in lead time depending on specifications.

Where do you ship from?

Newburgh, NY.
